How miagua works

SMART WATER METERS

Installation :

We install our meter close to your suppliers meter, on your side of the pipework.

The meter connects to our network sending hourly consumption information every 24 hours.

Installation process

To start the process please first complete the order form.

We will schedule the installation of the meter. We will contact you if needed or requested.

Step 3

Within 48-72 hours you will receive an email with access to the app and a link to make the payment.

Now you can be sure that you will not receive a surprise on your water bill, and you will have a better understanding of your water usage.

FAQ

Yes if you live in the property, or are local, but unless you are going to do it every day , you could still end up with a big bill.

With our system for less than 30 cents per day , your meter is being read every hour, the data is being stored and analysed, and someone you nominate is going to be alerted as soon as any unusual usage is detected.

Some insurance companies may cover some of the leaks, in some cases. However, in a lot of cases there is no leak , often its a hose left on by the pool cleaner or the gardener, or a problem on the irrigation system, these will not be covered.

If it is a leak and you find it, you then have to document it, before it is repaired, and have a legally registered plumber do the repairs, and then claim and hope some of it will be reclaimable. We believe it is safer, less stressful, and cheaper, to use our service for early detection.

You are likely to find that other benefits of using our service will reduce your water usage and associated costs by more than the cost of our service.

Currently in most regions the water meters are read every two months (In some regions it can be three months), so they do not know you have an issue until its to late.

If you find a leak and carry out the reporting and repair process according to their rules, you might be able to get about 20% reduction in the bill. So for example a one month leak resulting in a upwards of 600 euro bill you might get it reduced by €120 leaving you with a bill of €480 still to pay.

No, absolutely not, we do not interfere with the meter from your water supplier, or any of the pipework up to the meter.

We fit our Water Flow Meter, after the water companies meter and after  the shut-off valve, so it is on your side of the pipe work.

No, absolutely not, Your water supply company will still maintain your supply and provide your billing based on the readings they take from the water meter they supply.

The Water Flow Meter we provide is used for leak or excessive water usage detection.

For monitoring and alert purposes, we will estimate your bill based on the usage we are detecting, and based on our understanding or your water supply companies billing policies. However this estimate is purely to guide you, and make you aware of your usage between the actual bills provided by your water supply company.

Not remotely no. However if we have reported a potential problem to you or your nominated representatives, and you or they request that we go out to your property and physically operate the water shut off valve. We will do so free of charge for the first visit to your property in any 12 months service period, provided we can gain access to the shut-off valve and you still have an active service with us. You can purchase an additional shut off service if required.

We ask that this request is made in writing, so we can document it.

No, It does not use Wifi, it uses its own inbuilt radio to send the data information to our Masts.

It works for 10 years plus on the inbuilt Li-ion battery so no mains connection is required either.

Which means even after an electrical outage, possibly as a result of a storm, the Water Flow Meter is going to continue to work.

Yes you can cancel at any time. If it’s after the first year, and if you have more than 6 months left on your monitoring service contract then upon request you will receive a 45 euro refund.
